Micci Marmalade

When rocking a tee, there’s a thin line between sloppy and sexy, casual and cute, grunge and chic. We’ve listed some ways to don a t-shirt and while still making a BOLD statement.

1. If your like us, jeans are essential to making the perfect tee work. Shopping for jeans can be tiresome, annoying and painful. But when you find that perfect pair, it makes your heart smile, right?

2. A sexy pair of heels always makes a huge difference in the way a tee is rocked, and they’ll give you a more transitional look for social-hopping.

3. Wearing a statement piece of jewelry will add the perfect feminine touch to your tee. Depending on the design of the tee, a necklace may not be necessary. A simple-chunky bangle or gaudy ring will do the trick (sometimes gaudy is good)!

4. Tee’s can be jazzed up perfectly with a skirt (preferably high-waste) a belt and some heels. Or a cute, tailored jacket.

5. When choosing your purse to pair with your tee, choose wisely. Your purse should reflect what’s on your agenda for the day. You might want to shy away from an over sized bag for an evening event, and instead go with a small, dazzling clutch.

6. Of course this list would not be complete if we did not mention the timeless accessory which is the scarf. There are a zillion ways to wear a scarf, and they are consistently relied on to add that extra POP.

7. If you’re a real t-shirt and jeans type of gal, you probably prefer a basic ponytail and lip gloss look to complete your outfit….sometimes you may want to add some jazz! It’s completely unconventional to turn around and face a crowd with a stunning makeup application paired with a t-shirt and jeans.

8. Always have a pair of cute, feminine flats on hand. They’re a great alternative to sneakers, and they cross generational lines.

9. Be fearless! Pick out a tee that makes a statement and reflects YOUR personal brand!

10. When choosing a shirt, make sure it makes YOU feel comfortable. Trust me, when your comfortable- you radiate confidence.

As we approach the last few days in the first month of 2010, we would like to encourage our butterflies to finish the month out strong and to go into the rest of the year with great expectations. We’ve listed below six action items that reflect a life unleashed. Each month, on one day, one hour, or one minute- try offering yourself these unexpected surprises. 2010 just may be the greatest year of your life.

January- with only a fee day’s left in this month, this will be a good time to reflect on your 2010 so far. Perhaps you want to re-evaluate your new years resolution? Or add to it? This is a great opportunity to determine the single most important goal you would like to accomplish in 2010.

February- Give yourself some love. What could be the most loving, nurturing, deserving thing you could do for yourself? Maybe there’s a HAUTE handbag you’ve been eyeing for a while but you’ve been telling yourself that you don’t need it? Or when’s the last time you treated yourself to a day at the spa? Take the time out to show your body that you care, and a little retail therapy never hurts;)

March- The season will begin to change in March giving you the perfect opportunity to try a new look. Perhaps you’ve always wanted to see what you look like with auburn highlights? Or in the past you might have been nervous about rocking a short, sassy do! Be fearless in March! When you turn heads, you’re doing something right!

April- Make time for a hobby. Is there something you remember doing in the past that brought a ton of joy into your life? Maybe it’s something you’ve always wanted to do in your spare time. It may be difficult, but make time in your busy schedule for a hobby. You can start out at one hour per week, or one day per month-just take a moment to revive that feeling of loving something that simply brings you joy.

May- If you’re a daughter, allow your mother to have a moment UNLEASHED! Maybe she always wanted to go scuba diving, or learn how to salsa but she never did because (as mothers inherently do), she spent her years nurturing and catering to her family. If you’re a mother, we are giving you permission to be completely self absorbed this month;)

June- Ah, we love the summer time. The three summer months are all about adventure! This is what being a butterfly is all about, right? So of course, we’re going to challenge you to conquer your fears! Scared of Heights? Go skydiving in June. Afraid of the ocean? Go on a cruise this summer. Conquering your fears will cause you to smile at yourself with a sense of pride.

Micci Marmalade is finally here! Better yet, it has been unleashed! Thank you for your patience these last few months as the website was being built. Every detail had to be checked and double checked before Micci could officially launch. In true diva fashion, the wedding between Micci Marmalade and the World had to run precisely as scheduled.

Months of planning have gone into getting this business off the ground. Thousands of phone calls and emails have been traded back and forth between myself, the web developer, fashion reps, and countless other folks. I wanted it all to be perfect just for you

Several people have commented on the Facebook fan page asking where they could purchase items. Well, until the retail store opens here in Houston, feel free to buy the latest threads in the Micci online store. Every garment has been handpicked by yours truly, so you can rest assured that anything you order is 100% classy and 200% sassy.
